Natal, or project Natal is an innovative new piece of hardware to accompany the Xbox 360 and enhance your playing experience. The idea behind it is that it will scan yourself and items you possess into the game and therefore no controller would be required as you are essentially it.

From looking at the trailer, the feature that I find most attractive is the facial recognition so that when you enter the cameras vision, it will detect who you are and sign you in. Although I do not know how this will work when two people enter the room at the same time.

Also, I like the fact that it claims to capture the body’s full movement doing so will enable you to use your whole body as a control method and not just parts of it. However whether they perfect this is yet to be seen. On the one hand if it’s too sensitive, it might perform actions that you did not intend to happen and at the same time if it lacks sensitivity it may not realise the actions that you are performing, and thus ruin the game experience. But knowing Microsoft’s success with previous hardware, I expect they will be able to pull it off.

That concludes my preview of Project Natal as very little information has been shared about it however I am sure gamers everywhere are anticipating its release.
