Also I tried using one of the test servers but two were in use and the others were down, do I just return when they are free or should I be doing something else to connect to one, I am a little confused, thanks. Posted by Edward Drummond on Mar 02 at 23:24 UK. don't take my word for this but if simplecast is recording whatever comes out of the soundcast then surely all you need to do is go to your sound settings in control panel (i assume that you are using windows, select the usb mic input and there should be a box that says listen or monitor thsi device. Then as its playing through the soundcard it should transmit, although I advise wearingn headphones to defeat feedback. hope this helps Posted by DJ Javo on Mar 02 at 23:59 UK. a usb mic should work in the same way as an ordinary mic (although it may require drivers) Posted by Matt on Mar 03 at 00:02 UK. Edward, I've had no end of problems with USB mikes and setting them up on the same soundcard as my playout system, only my problems have been with latency, in the end I ditched USB and went back to a normal 3.5 jack input mike. Good luck and I hope you get it working. Posted by 1Radio Admin on Mar 03 at 21:47 UK. really we have a upload facility for people with over 50 shows. didn't know that but its good news Posted by DJ Javo on Mar 04 at 07:21 UK. I use a "snoball" USB mic. I am running Windows 7 and SAM 4.36. I have had NO ISSUES with Mic clarity or latency. My BROTHER (Big Daddy) on the other hand HAS had issues with BOTH mics (USB and 3.5mm) and you need to contact HIM, as He has fixed the problem in the Voice FX window by changing some values. His mic NOW sounds as good as min with NO clicks, or anything. Hope this helps. Posted by Tez on Mar 04 at 22:29 UK. Thanks for the advice, does anyone know if its possible to get an adaptor to line the mic into a jack? I dont really want to have to buy another microphone at thee momentt but may have to it seems. The pin config is as follows. Data # A = GND # B = NC # C = +DATA # D = -DATA # E = +5v Audio # 1 = +Mic # 2 = +Right # 3 = Switch # 4 = Gnd # 5 = Gnd # 6 = +Left You can find Enhanced Mini USB connectors on a variety of devices. The above config covers the USB configuration of the Orange SPV M3100, HTC TyTN, Vodafone v1605, HTC Oxygen devices and HTC Meteor devices and probably many more. Use at your own risk though, play safe! may help Posted by DJ ricky rodgers on Mar 05 at 12:04 UK. Tez how do you monitor your audio input with the mic, and how do you go from the mic to your vocal? Do you have a separate mixer and input for your music? If I am trying to do it all off a windows vista laptop is this going to prove impossible? Posted by Edward Drummond on Mar 29 at 16:27 UK. Edward, I do not use a mixer, but if I needed to I use "Virtual Audio Cable". Right now, I just broadcast using my "smowball" mic, and my USB headset using the headphones only. BOTH the music AND the mic audio play through it. I am comfortable using it that way. The Audio pipeline in SAM is set to USB headset out, so I hear everything through there. If you WANTED to set up and use a cue output and separate outputs for devices, I know that you can use the virtual audio cable as it can have many virtual OUTPUTS and INPUTS! I haven't read the entire post, but send me another update of exactly what you want to do, and what broadcasting software you are using. I just use SAM, with the default settings in the AGP. no No third-party processing. Let me know. Posted by Tez on Mar 29 at 16:53 UK. if you are using simlecast that picks up the sound card if the mic works out of the speakers it will be picked up by simplecast just adjust the music volume in comparison to the mic volume Posted by DJ ricky rodgers on Mar 29 at 16:54 UK. Edward, RE: a USB "adapter". My headset came with one so I can use it either way. Using the mic in and speaker out jacks if I wanted to. As far a being able to use the mic for live speaking, why not? I just use the push-to-talk. I am not sure what issues you need to make work. Let me know. Posted by Tez on Mar 29 at 16:58 UK. Add a reply...
