Broadcast Rules

You MUST be at least 15 years old to broadcast on 1Radio.

You are NOT permitted to broadcast material that

• promotes racism, bigotry, hatred or physical harm of any kind against any group or individual;
• harasses or advocates harassment of another person;
• includes pornographic or sexually explicit material;
• is or promotes any conduct that is abusive, threatening, obscene, defamatory or libellous;
• promotes any illegal activities;
• provides instructional information about illegal activities, including but not limited to violating someone else’s privacy or providing or creating computer viruses;
• promotes information that you know to be false or misleading;
• infringes any rights of any third party, including commecial music and recordings of individuals without their express consent;
• promotes or advertises any product or service.

If your show includes material that is likely to offend or is unsuitable for younger listeners, you must include a disclaimer in your show description. This can be found in your personal profile under default show description. An audio warning is also advisable for those listeners who are tuned in but are not in the shoutbox and therefore wouldn't see the disclaimer.

DJ Behaviour

DJs must adhere to the general shoutbox rules. Furthermore, the DJ

• should broadcast at least one show per month
• should be punctual for his/her slot
• should broadcast for the entire duration of his/her slot
• should cancel his/her slot ahead of time if it is known they are unable to broadcast
• should be polite and respectful on the air and in the shoutbox
• should not swear or be abusive to other people in the shoutbox or to those listening
• should discourage behaviour that breaks the shoutbox rules and ban persistant offenders
• should not enter into aggressive arguments over music, shows or other matters relating to the site generally
• should not bring personal grievances, problems or issues into the show or shoutbox but, if appropriate, raise them outside the shoutbox or directly with 1Radio using our contact form to explain the issue.
• should not bring 1Radio or the website into disrepute

No shows

Repeated no shows will result in the DJ being automatically suspended for ONE WEEK. During this time, the DJ will not be able to access their account. Any slots already booked during the suspension will be automatically cancelled. Repeated suspensions will result in the account being suspended for longer or being cancelled.

Stream settings

It is the responsibility of the DJ to maintain reasonable accurate MP3/ID3 tags in their music collection and to transmit this information in their broadcast stream. In the event that it is not possible to stream this information, then the DJ must maintain this information manually after the broadcast.

Events & Weekenders

From time to time, 1Radio organises events relating to a particular genre, musical era or other themes. Such events are clearly marked in the booking schedule. If a DJ books a slot during an event, then the DJ is expected to feature content appropriate to the event. If a DJ blatantly ignores the theme of the event, then the slot may be cancelled.

Shoutbox Bans

It is reasonable for the on-air DJ to ban someone in the shoutbox, if

• they repeatedly break the shoutbox rules
• their behaviour is offensive, abusive or generally innappropriate
• they flood the shoutbox

A ban is temporary and lasts for one slot only. Repeated banning by multiple DJs will result in it becoming permanent.

Simulcasting

Simulcasting/dualcasting (ie broadcasting simultaneously to one or more other stations whilst streaming on 1Radio) may only be done with the permission of 1Radio. Any DJ found simulcasting without permission may have their account closed.

Rights

It is the responsibility of each member of 1Radio to ensure they have the required rights and authorisations for the music they play and the software they use when broadcasting on 1Radio.

Each member guarantees that he is the holder of all required authorisations as concerns intellectual property rights (such as notably copyright, related rights, trademark rights, industrial property rights, etc.) and generally all rights pertaining to their activity on 1Radio.

Each member also guarantees to 1Radio that his activity does not infringe privacy or third-party rights.

1Radio reserves the right to restrict or deny without notice any activity that infringes third-party rights and especially intellectual or industrial property rights. Furthermore, 1Radio cannot be held liable or responsible for any infringement.
