Shoutbox Rules

1Radio is a friendly community. To help ensure that it is a fun and safe place for all of our visitors, we have established a few rules that everyone needs to follow when using the Shoutbox.

Consider posting in English
The main language of 1Radio is English. You can post in other languages if you wish, but this will exclude the majority of users from the conversation.

Be considerate and respectful
Insulting, threatening or abusive posts will not be tolerated and will result in banning.

Don't post personal contact information
Do not reveal any personal information about yourself or another person on the site. The safety of everyone here is very important to us, and people's privacy must be respected. If you wish to share your contact details with a 1Radio DJ, use the private message facility, guestbook or the 1Radio contact form. You are also encouraged to contact 1Radio with privacy or safety concerns.

Don't link to other websites, images etc
You may not post advertisements, spam, or other solicitations.
Comments or links posted in the shoutbox may be removed if

• they are offensive or inappropriate
• they promote third party services
• they promote other radio stations
• they promote illegal activity
• they are disguised using short urls (such as tinyurl or shorturl etc)

Do not use multiple names in the shoutbox
Use of multiple names with the intent to offend, abuse, mislead etc is strictly forbidden and will result in banning. Impersonating other members of the shoutbox with the intent to offend, abuse, mislead etc is also forbidden and will result in banning.

Don't overly promote other shows, features or cause participants to leave
If you want the on air DJ to promote your show, then ask privately or post a promo in the Jingle Exchange and ask the DJ to use. It's inconsiderate to promote your show or distract listeners away from the current show.

Don't try to poach DJs
If you want to get new recruits, then contact people privately. Open and obvious poaching of DJs or the posting or discussion of other radio station websites will result in permanent banning.

Don't seek or provide illegal information
Asking for or providing information on how to illegally obtain or provide software ("warez") or music is forbidden.

Don't overly criticise the site, the music, other DJs, Moderators or other members of the shoutbox
If you have a genuine issue with an aspect of the site, please be polite, constructive and tactful or take it out of the shoutbox. If necessary, you should contact the on-air DJ using the private message facility or contact 1Radio using our contact form to explain the issue.
